Celtic pantheons are well known from a different variety of sources including celtic mythology, engravings, acient places of worship, statues, cult objects and places or personal names.Celts were known for a lot of things. Celts refused to acknowledge the roman rule. The celts were also extreme fighters under any type of circumstances. One type of fighting that they were great at was hit and run warfare. In the hit and run warfare they were good at scattering in small groups but in isolated areas. The Celts were doing just fine until the come up of christianity, the church cut some of the celts gods because of promotional sainthood purposes. Some believe that christians cut down the trees that produced the apples of immortality they say that this might have been responsible for reducing the status of celtic gods to trolls and fairies. The god that seemed to be the supreme god of the celtic pantheons was called Dagda. Dagda means good god, such as good at everything or all-powerful. Dagda is a father figure/ protector of the Celtic tribe. The Celtic pantheons had a number of different sacred places but only two types of sacred places. One type is natural sacred place and the second is a artificial sacred place also known as sacred monuments .Some sacred places had a high connection to water such as sacred springs. The sacred springs in many cases these springs are springs that have a curative power. The sacred monuments are such things as the temple inside of oppida and graves.

    phantom queen
As a shap-changer she can turn from ravishing beauty to hag at anytime. This caused a great deal of confusion to careless mythologists. Some say there is three of her but as her sister Badb and Nemain usually join their sister side. There could have been more shape-changing warrior goddesses as Fea, Fotla, and Nemain as they were never likely to sit on the sidelines when things got exciting.

Danu: Celtic goddess of wind, wisdom and fertility {danu.jpg} I am the force that turns the flower to the Sun
Danu is the prime mover, she who came before everything else. As an aspect of the Great-Mother, she encompasses both light and dark, both giving and receiving back. There is evidence that the river Danube is named for her. In many readings Danu brings a time of richness and inspiration, of magic and return to the source of celts. Danu has many different names such as Ana, Anu,Anann meaning wealth and abundance.
